BNB on Chainflip: Soon. BNB on InstaSwap: Today.

BNB on Chainflip: Soon. BNB on InstaSwap: Today.

Chainflip is adding native BNB. It is on testnet today, and mainnet is expected this month. The day it lands, InstaSwap routes BNB through it.

That is the short version. Here is why it matters, and what changes for you — and what does not.

BNB on InstaSwap: already today

Nothing about this is a launch of BNB support. You can swap BNB on InstaSwap right now, and you have been able to for a long time. What is changing is the route underneath the quote.

InstaSwap is an aggregator. When you ask for a price, the engine puts the order in front of every venue that can fill it and returns the best one. BNB is served today through the venues that support it. Chainflip becoming one of those venues does not add a token to the list — it adds a competitor for your order.

What "native" actually means

The word gets used loosely, so it is worth being exact. A native swap moves the real asset on its real chain. You send BNB on BNB Chain and you receive the asset you asked for on its own chain, as itself.

The alternative — the one most cross-chain flows quietly rely on — is a wrapped representation. Somewhere in the middle, a bridge or a custodian holds the real asset and issues you an IOU that tracks it. That IOU is only ever as good as whoever is holding the collateral, and the history of cross-chain crypto is largely a history of that assumption failing.

Native routing removes the IOU from the middle. There is nothing to depeg, and nobody holding your asset while the swap is in flight.

Why Chainflip

Chainflip is a decentralized cross-chain swap protocol built to settle native assets without an intermediary taking custody. Three properties are the reason it is on our list:

  • Native. Real assets on real chains, no wrapped representation sitting in the middle of the trade.
  • Self-custodial. No party takes custody of your funds during settlement.
  • No account. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to verify, nothing held against your name.

Those are the same three properties InstaSwap is built around, which is why the integration is a natural fit rather than a marketing exercise. When the venue and the aggregator agree on the custody model, there is no weak link where the two meet.

What changes on mainnet day

For you, almost nothing visible — and that is the point. You will not have to pick a route, toggle a setting, or learn a new flow. Chainflip's BNB route joins the pool of venues competing for your order, and the engine uses it whenever it wins.

What you should see is the result: tighter quotes on BNB pairs, more depth behind large orders, and a native, self-custodial path that did not exist as an option before. More routes competing for a quote is the entire mechanism by which an aggregator produces a better price. Each new venue is one more bid you did not have yesterday.

Timeline, honestly stated

Testnet today. Mainnet this month. We are not going to pin that to a date we do not control — Chainflip ships it when it is ready, and we route it the day it is live. No migration on our side, no downtime, no announcement you need to act on.

Frequently asked questions

Can I swap BNB on InstaSwap right now?

Yes. BNB is supported today through existing venues. The Chainflip route is an addition, not a prerequisite.

Will I have to choose Chainflip manually?

No. Route selection is automatic. The engine quotes every venue that can fill your order and uses whichever one gives you the best outcome.

Do I need an account or KYC?

No. InstaSwap is accountless and non-custodial, and the Chainflip route carries the same properties end to end.

Does native routing cost more?

No — the opposite is the expectation. An additional venue competing for your order pushes quotes in your favour, not against you.
