What Are Native Swaps?

Native swaps mean you trade cryptocurrencies in their original form on their native blockchains. When you swap BTC for ETH, you send real Bitcoin and receive real Ether — not wrapped tokens or synthetic representations.

This is powered by decentralized cross-chain protocols like THORChain, Chainflip, and NEAR Intents that enable trustless exchanges between different blockchains without bridges or intermediary tokens.

Popular Pairs

Routing is dynamic: every quote is scored across all applicable protocols and the best route wins. The same engine also builds combination routes, for example BTC into a Solana token via a cross-chain leg plus a Jupiter leg, presented as one quote with one deposit.

Private Swaps

Where the assets support it, a swap can settle through a privacy rail so the coins you receive cannot be tied to the coins you sent.

Private (default where supported): your deposit is settled through an intent-based liquidity layer. The output is paid out of a shared pool that is continuously processing many unrelated orders, so on-chain there is no link between the asset you sent and the asset you receive. The more volume flows through the layer, the larger the anonymity set and the harder any input is to match to any output.

ZK-proof: the swap is routed through a zero-knowledge shielded pool. A validity proof (zk-SNARK) authorizes the payout without revealing the sender, the destination, the token, or the amount, and without exposing any link between the deposit and the withdrawal. To a public observer the settlement appears to originate from the shared pool, not from you. It works for any token and adds a short proof window plus a small shielding fee.

Walletless swaps are Instaswap's simplest trading mode. You don't need to connect a wallet or install any software. Just provide a receiving address, send your crypto to the generated deposit address, and Instaswap handles the rest.

How the Privacy Works

Private (default): your deposit is settled through an intent-based liquidity layer. The assets your recipients receive are paid out of a shared pool that is continuously processing many unrelated orders, so the coins that land at each destination carry no on-chain link back to the coins you sent. • Bot-safe: the order is only created when the payer chooses to pay, never on page load, so opening a link never mints a deposit channel.
• Pay from wallet or manually: for EVM assets the payer can connect a wallet (the address doubles as the refund) or pay manually with a refund address.

Instaswap charges no flat platform fee. Fees are embedded in the swap route and vary between ~0.3% and 1% depending on the liquidity protocol used. Because Instaswap aggregates across protocols, it selects the cheapest available route at the time of the swap. Network gas fees are separate.

ChangeNow

ChangeNow is a centralized swap aggregator with fees typically ranging from 0.5% to 2%. It offers both fixed-rate swaps (rate locked at order time) and float-rate swaps. Fixed rates carry a premium (~0.5% higher). ChangeNow acts as the counterparty, meaning your funds pass through their custody during the swap.

FixedFloat

FixedFloat charges 1% for float-rate swaps and 0.5% for fixed-rate swaps. It supports around 100 coins across major chains. Like ChangeNow, it is custodial during the transaction. FixedFloat is known for fast execution on common pairs like BTC ↔ ETH.

Swap states flow through awaiting_deposit → deposit_detected → swapping → complete (or failed / refund). A private flag is available on quotes and swaps for private settlement routing.

Webhooks

Instead of polling status-lite (rate limited at 1,000 requests/hour), register a webhook in the Partners Dashboard. You receive a POST on every state change, signed with HMAC-SHA256 in the X-Instaswap-Signature header, with automatic retries. An optional per-swap fee breakdown can be included in payloads.

Tokenized Stocks

Stocks are normal tokens on the API surface: /tokens-lite tags them with assetClass: "stock", GET /stocks serves the showcase feed (prices, 24h change, sparklines, market session), and buying or selling is a plain quote-lite / swap-lite call with the stock id (e.g. sol.aaplx). Affiliate and sub-affiliate fees apply to stock swaps like any other swap, and Split Swaps support stocks as the entry asset or any leg.

Sub-Affiliates

Partners can issue sub-affiliate tokens to downstream integrators (Partners Dashboard → Sub-Partner Fees). Downstream requests carry an X-Sub-Affiliate-Id header, and the platform/partner/sub split is itemized in every feeBreakdown.

Spot & Perps APIs

Order-book trading has its own APIs: spotapi.instaswap.com and perpsapi.instaswap.com expose markets, orderbooks, funding rates (perps), order placement and cancellation, positions, and balances. Orders carry your affiliateId for commission attribution, mirroring the swap API model.
